The best Finnish team’s heads were slightly hanging after the competition.
The victory was for a bit at Kalevalan Rasti’s Thierry Gueorgioun hands,
but one control point in the end of the route cancelled the celebration.

Halden SK lost their lead dramatically in the last leg. Halden’s anchor Emil Winngstedt was not able to keep the 3.25 lead, as Kristiansand OK and Kalevan Rasti rushed pass the Norwegian.
Daniel Hubmann and Thierry Gueorgiou were able to catch the runaway
approximately in the mid way of the final leg. Gueorgiou kept the lead
position and it seemed that he brings the team to victory.
In the end Hubmann’s excellent choice of route and running pace turned
the victory to the Norwegian team Kristiansand OK. The time of the
winner was 8.02.43.
IK Göteborg with its Finnish anchor, Mats Haldin, finished as fourth,
and Vehkalahden Veikot with Tero Föhr as the anchor finished as fifth.
Last year’s winner, Delta, finished seventh. They had a Swedish team Malungs OK Skogsmårdar ahead of them.
Daniel Hubmann was satisfied of his leg. He felt good all the way from
the start. “ I had a strong feeling of myself. I did almost a perfect
performance, stated Hubmann happily in the finish.
The Norwegian anchor had practically only one one difficult situation,
when he lost the contact to Kalevan Rasti’s Thierry Gueorgiou. However,
he gained the contact again, and the rest was pure pleasure. “ I enjoy
running man to man. I trusted myself and thought I can really make it”,
announced Hubmann in the end.
