Angelniemen Ankkuri’s second leg competitor Galina Vinogradova gained the lead with excellent orienteering in the second leg. At the second exchange her lead to Tampereen Pyrintö’s Riitta Kuuselo was 1.18. Last year’s winner Domnarvets GoIF was 3rd 2.05 behind.

Vinogradova told that she ran alone for a long time. She saw Tampereen Pyrintö’s competitor only before the sixth control. When asked if she believes in Angelniemi’s victory, she replied immediately: “I hope so”.

Tampereen Pyrintö’s Riikka Kuuselo noticed Vinogradova good condition. She told that in the beginning the speed was quite low, until Vinogradova joined the leading group. “After that the speed was completely different”, Kuuselo said. “The rest was nothing but pain. Too fast for my present condition” she concluded.
