In Venla Relay the
third place was conquered by a Finnish team, Tampereen Pyrintö. The members of
the team were Heidi Haapasalo, Riina Kuuselo, Saila Kinni and Anni-Maija Fincke
as the anchor.
The
first leg’s competitor, experienced Heidi Haapasalo wanted to press on
interviev that team is from TampereFinland and it
has good co operation and team practise together. “It was important that the
first leg succeeded, it was the basic for the whole competition. The team was
in the 18th position after first leg.
The Second
leg’s competitor Riina Kuusela has suffered some injuries, but now it seems
better. She started her own leg in good position and Tampereen Pyrintö was in
the second position after the leg.
Salla
Kinni, who was the competitor in the third leg was able to run alone from the
good position. At the end of the leg she lost time about one minute, but was in
the fifth position, which was good for the anchor. “The rest of the leg felt
long”, Kinni commented.
The
anchor of the team Anni-Maija Fincke told that she only thought about the
orienteering, not winning. “I tried to be quite calm”, said Fincke.
The
team thought that the terrain was quite demanding and was happily surprised
about the position.
