Jukola has traditionally been a competition for men only, but nowadays also women can participate.
But women can orienteer in only one competition during the same year, meaning they cannot orienteer both in Venla and Jukola.
Many women wish to exprience the unique atmosphere of Jukola in
different club teams and teams consisting of friends or workmates.
There are women teams for example in Italian, Swedish as well as in
Finnish Jukola teams.
