The First Aid in Jukola has been busy. According to the doctor in charge, Heikki Laine, there has been approximately 150 orienteers visiting the First Aid during Venla and Jukola.
“If those looking for medication are taken into account, the number of visitors is close to two hundred”, Laine tells.
The most common bothers for the orienteers include wounds, bruising and especially twists.
The crutches have been very popular. “Let’s see what we have left here. We had about twenty pairs of crutches in the beginning, but now only four pairs are left", states Laine.
This year also the liquation has also been a problem. The sunny and
rather hot weather during Venla relay was the reason for more
exhaustions than usually.
Compared to last year, there has been approximately the same amount of
injuries. A few more severly injured ones have been taken to Mikkeli
central hospital for check-up.
